1983 Apple Keynote-The “1984″ Ad Introduction
Here we see Steve Jobs at a keynote in 1983 showing for the first time ever the famous “1984″ ad by Ridley Scott to an exclusive audience. The ad was shown on tv shortly after that only once during the 1984 Superbowl & never aired again & is considered to be one of the greatest ads of all time.
Enjoy!!

IBM just got shitted on
5:30 now thats a happy man
decades latter, the work with IBM to develop the PowerPC microarchitecture. Not even two decades latter, they abandon it.
PowerPC is now no where to be found in microcomputers. You can find it in ultra high end servers (which is being eaten at by x86) in game consoles (for who knows how long), but no where else.
ibm always gets shitted on
wrong, google is now big brother.
microsoft will soon become like ibm
Lmao @ the opening music, but, it was hip and trendy at the time.
The audiance is typical brainwashed mac fans they cheer at the end but all they saw was a marketing commercial by Ridley Scott but Jobs never said a word about the new computers hardware specs.
so apple invented the PC?
@ThatEccentricguy Yes they did.
No.. Apple invented the Appe… Windows copied the Apple and “created” the PC
yep.. Mac users haven’t changed.. this same group probally grew up and did those nosed-up Mac VS PC ads starring that dude from Die Hard 4.
It’s like they are selling themselves as the PC messiahs…
“Ohhh we saved everyone from the evil satanic IBM”
“Their only force that can ensure their future freedom”
talk about 1984!
snotty and unauthentic 1980s pre-bubble hybris.
@nathan8BIT Apple copied the Alto personal computer that was in use at Xerox PARC and created the Macintosh. Apple did not create “the window GUI environment” It was created by Alan Kay, Larry Tesler, Dan Ingalls @ Xerox PARC.
Thats Right …
Hmm, looks like telling the truth isn’t too popular around here.
@colliric Well, they saved us all from the shitty PCs.
He is a genius….but just another Pirate of Silicon Valley!!! No hard fellings!!!
I don’t mind macs, but i still love my PC!
Owned a Mac once around then 1987 , did’nt care much for it , got sold on PC been with ever since !!!

Can anyone know the title of the song we hear at the begining of this video ?
“what a feeling” is the song
Steve looks so smug after the ad, just like ‘hey i’m a mac guy’.
