The Slackers – Married Girl

I recently found this ridiculous “music video” that I made with Vic Ruggiero while going through some old tapes… It’s for a song by The Slackers called “Married Girl” It was shot on 16mm color reversal film about 6 years or so ago…

Enjoy!!

I’m wondering how much you actually know about ska to say something like that…

Also, trivia (just for fun): Leftover Crack and this band have the same drummer (Ara Babajian).

That’s insane.. I keep finding this random shit out just like the drummer from the World/Inferno Friendship Society is also the drummer of the Dresden Dolls.

ew! madness and the specials!? kudos for your other choices but two tone is awful. it was the worst wave of ska.
also, the slackers are greatly inspired by the bands you listed. if you like them, you should like this.

1st wave (traditional jamaican ska, 50s-60s):
    Desmond Dekker
    Bob Marley and the Wailers
    The Skatalites
2 tone ska (British ska revival,70s-80s):
    The Specials
    The English Beat
    Madness
    3rd Wave (American ska-punk, late 80s-present):
    Reel Big Fish
    Streetlight Manifesto
    Suburban Legends
    Skankin Pickle
The Cat Empire (not “pure” ska, but a really sick mix of ska, reggae, funk, latin, and jazz from Australia)

“The Boss Harmony Sessions” is their best one.
“A Minha Menina” and “Wanted Man” are the best songs on that album.

    “Peculiar” is second.

I like how I’ve never heard a bad song from these guys I can basically put on any cd from them and it will be kickass.
